Sahar Hakimi

Sahar

Registered Acupuncturist (RAc) | Acupuncture Detoxification Specialist (ADS)

Practicing since 2006 with a focus on pain management, mental/emotional imbalances, sleep disorders, weight management, cosmetic, addiction, chronic skin conditions, digestive issues and gynecological issues.

After receiving her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Alberta, Sahar fell in love with Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). It was sheer coincidence that she came across the topic, but the more she learned about the theories of TCM, the more it correlated with the theories of health she was brought up with in Afghanistan. Health had a holistic approach where the whole person and the environment always had to be considered for healing. Therefore, Sahar studied Traditional Chinese Medicine at MacEwan University in Edmonton, Alberta and received her Acupuncture Diploma in 2005.

The intense three-year program combined an excellent balance of modern and traditional medicinal theories, diagnoses, and treatments. Later, she continued to expand her TCM therapeutic knowledge by pursuing an Acupuncture Detoxification Specialization under the internationally renowned NADA (National Acupuncture Detoxification Association) program. This specialization has allowed her to work with Vancouver Coastal Health and provide Acupuncture at multiple Addiction and mental health facilities in Vancouver and Richmond for over 15 years.

Sahar believes in treating the root of a problem while alleviating the symptoms. She believes in treating the whole body and understanding the whole person before designing a treatment plan. She loves creating this customized plan for each individual to go beyond the clinic. Providing lifestyle and dietary recommendations helps her clients reach desired results quicker.

When Sahar is not working, she loves family time. Cooking, biking, hiking, skiing, boxing, or just having a lazy day binge watching TV with her husband and 2 children are the happiest times for her.

Greta

Greta

Registered Massage Therapist

Massage therapist, Greta Starr is a strong believer in the power of massage. After two motor vehicle accidents in 1997, she found massage therapy beneficial and it gave her an appreciation for what massage therapy is able to accomplish. She is aware of what it is like to be injured and the frustration that comes with setbacks and the enjoyment of getting back to the things that you enjoy.

Greta’s approach to treatment is to look at the body and treat it as a whole. She is also dedicated to educating people on their body and health care and what they are able to do to maintain and increase the benefits gained from massage. She finds it very rewarding to be able to have a part in helping improve patients’ health and well-being.
